The original building pre-dates 1850.  A $10 million renovation converted the building, and its three-story newer addition, into 71 affordable apartment units in the Mount Pleasant neighborhood of St. Louis. The historic corridors and common spaces were restored to their original condition, while all other elements like mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems were upgraded for efficiency, modern code expectation, and to meet current design standards.
